Senior House Democrats have initiated a probe into cryptocurrency ventures associated with former President Donald Trump, citing potential violations including fraudulent fundraising, foreign influence peddling, and abuse of political power. Representatives Gerald Connolly, Joseph Morelle, and Jamie Raskin formally requested suspicious activity reports from the Treasury Department regarding Trump-affiliated entities.

The investigation focuses on Republican fundraising platform WinRed and multiple political action committees, including Elon Musk’s America PAC. The lawmakers’ letter to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent emphasizes concerns about "fraudulent, corrupt, or other illegal purposes" in politically connected crypto ventures.
